Beat the heat with these 3 variations of The Cooling Breath. Please note that some respiratory conditions may not appreciate these breathing exercises - proceed with awareness and caution. Or watch the video all the way through and then talk to your health care provider before you try them.

The sound is not great in this one as i was in a huge, empty room. However, it is a lovely practice of chest openers - Mmmm..... i just finished doing this one and i feel great! A cute happening while i was practising/watching this video: Our dog was just a couple feet away the whole time. At the end, getting into savasana, as "video Sheron" suggested a deep breath followed by a sigh, he let out a huge sigh! Ha ha! So cute! We had a lovely savasana together. Thanks again City of Courtenay, Recreation and Comox Valley Community Foundation for this opportunity to share and connect! Today's video is mostly standing. You might want a chair to modify to sitting for some poses. You will also need some sort of support to hold onto like a wall, a counter, a chair, a desk. So let's get comfy with losing control!! Gentle, nourishing, & calming practice. Check-in + breath work, four poses (short holds) and then guided relaxation. **If you are unfamiliar with Restorative Yoga or Sheron's teaching style, please take care. Listen to your body. Watch the video through once before joining, to familiarize yourself with the poses and the way they are presented. Have you been wondering how to practice some of those lovely supported back bends we do in class, at home, without a bolster? If yes, watch this video. Learn how make improvised bolsters from items you might have at home. If you have other improvisations, please share! Either here on my web site in the comments below or directly in the YouTube comment section of this video. :) This time, i am in the "Craft Room" at the Lewis Centre! Yoga practice based in Hatha Yoga. Short warm-up only. Limited pose description - geared towards students that have a familiarity with Hatha poses or Sheron's teaching style. Created for students that have been attending Sheron's 55+ Yoga -Ongoing and/or Yoga Fusion. Guided relaxation or Savasana. Practice on its own or add this to the end of your asana or posture practice. NOTES:
:) This practice is the routine we do at a monthly Chair Yoga session I lead. Audio quality good, video quality not great but it serves its purpose :) **If you are unfamiliar with these poses, please take care. Listen to your body. Watch the video through once before joining, to familiarize your self with the poses and the way they are presented. Hot off the presses! Join me for a 14 minute guided practice to balance your emotions & your mood. Similar to what you would experience at the start of one of my yoga classes - A "noticing & allowing" body scan followed by a guided "one side of body" breathing exercise. Balance left & right side of body & brain too. (Similar to alternate nostril breath) Well, it took many days and hours of work, but here it finally is! Made in my home studio. Yes, i realize the picture quality is blurry. That is because i used the "selfie" setting on my phone so that i could watch myself as i recorded. Because my space is so small, i have limited camera placement options. If i moved my body too far to the left, right, or forward, i was out of the frame. Thankfully the voice/sound quality is good. My wish is that this practice helps you to stay flexible & strong in this time of change. And thank you for your continued support! Thank you for sharing your experiences, feedback and kind words - keep them coming! I am also joyfully and gratefully accepting gifts to continue these productions. You can send gifts via PayPal or E-Transfer. HUGS! Hurrah! Now you can practice yoga at home with Sheron! This is a short video that you can use as a yoga warm-up (i give a cue to pause close to the final relaxation if you'd like to add some extra to your practice) or let this be a gentle practice all on it's own. I would love to hear your feedback. You can post a comment (below) or send me a message via email or the contact form on my "Contact" page. This video was filmed at Courtenay Recreation's Lewis Centre. Thank you so much for the staff behind the scenes at City Hall and at the Lewis Centre that made this happen! You are awesome. Hugs!! :) |
