It is like Yoga for your home.
The translation of the word “Yoga” is “union”; the union between body, mind and spirit. A “home loving” session with me is much the same; we will create a union between you, your home and your possessions. Sometimes our “stuff” can create tension (mental and/or physical). This added stress in our lives can occur simply by having too much stuff, having unhelpful stuff or even the simple problem of having our stuff in unhelpful locations. I will assist you in deciding what stuff best suits you and your home and what can be parted with. I will also give you tools to help you create “stuff” homes so you can find your things when you need them. I am empathetic, intuitive, resourceful and creative. I combine tools from my Mindfulness, Personal Growth and Yoga practices with effective and flexible De-cluttering skills. I adapt to your needs - I can be onsite to support you through the whole project and/or I can give you tasks to do on your own time. And, in case you have regrets or realize released items belong to other people, I hold all items for 24 hours (except perishable items and any oversized items that are taken via pickup truck). A 2 hour session is $95.00. This home visit fee includes the taking away and re-homing, recycling, and/or disposing of one car load per visit. I also have access to a pick up truck and can take larger objects for an additional fee, or I can recommend a hauling service. A visit generally lasts 2.00 hours. And that is flexible. I can book us for one hour and then take it from there, pausing occasionally during the process to check energy levels and size of tasks. And if we decide we are not a fit or the tasks need to be chunked down in smaller visits, then i will simply charge you for the time i was there (or my minimum fee of $45.00 should we go for 55 minutes or less). Curious? Reach out. Let's have a conversation. contact page link Wondering if we are a fit? Take a wander around my website and get to know me. *If your budget is tight, let's talk. A certain percentage of my work is available via trade. And i have a pay-what-you-can option. What i DON'T do:
I do not make decisions for you. I do not rush the process. If you want someone to just come in and take stuff away, try a hauling service or try a different decluttering approach. I am here to teach you tools and techniques to make peace with your stuff - tools that you might use for the rest of your life. I do not take sides. I do not condone getting rid of other people's stuff when they are not at home. I do not take what has not been freely given. If you are having issues with a partner/roommate/family members' stuff, ask them to join us or seek outside communications support (mediator, therapist, etc). I do not sell your stuff for you, nor will i buy things from you. I donate reusable items to local thrift stores. I occasionally re-home things to people i know are in need of certain items. I recycle what is recyclable. I discard the rest. |
Quotes/notes from
past &/or current clients: How have you benefited from these sessions?
A better ability to let other things go. Not just material things. More than once since our decluttering sessions I've thought to myself, "I can just let go of that". Having you here gave me permission, or it allowed me to give myself permission, to let go of things.
It feels good to open my closet and see space rather than clutter and items I "should" do "something" about. (by "something" I mean repair, re-purpose, discard.)
There is no particular item that I regret discarding. That may be because I had a chance to share a bit of its history before sending it on its way.
Having the chance to email/talk to you about the process has helped. Particularly our talks last week before decluttering. Not sure I can put into words how it helps. Just sort of clarified/solidified ideas that have come up.
Some questions to help you get clear or maybe even get you started... How am i feeling about my home and possessions right now? How do i want to feel when these sessions are complete? What is stopping me from moving forward? When i look around my home, what do i see? And what do i want to see? Do i have items in my home that feel heavy? What items make me smile? Are there "undone" items in my home? (requiring repair or recycling or returning to owners) Which room do i feel most at peace with in my home? Which room is making me bonkers? Is there one little thing i can take care of right this minute? I can help you find answers to all these questions. |
