ALL CLASSES have a meditation & breath-work component.
We begin with a few minutes of breathing to settle in & we end with a guided relaxation (10-15 minutes) to let everything sink in.
Options & variations are offered so you can explore poses within your current
range of motion and level of energy.
Classes are open to older adults, aged 55 & up, EXCEPT Meditation & Yoga, which is open to adults of all ages.
A mix of gentle Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga & the Joint Release Series. Mostly low to the ground poses with a bit of standing. A calming practice with stretching & easy strengthening poses. Suitable for those that are slow in getting up & down from the floor or have limited mobility. All levels welcome.
Includes stationary or moving poses in standing, balance, seated, supine & inverted positions. Stretch & strengthen.
Beginners Basic poses. Slow moving. All levels welcome.
55+ Options to increase challenge. All levels welcome.
INTRO TO MEDITATION (with Yoga)
What to expect: We’ll begin each class with a discussion on that day’s meditation practice. We will warm up our body and shift away some of the busyness of the mind with a short Gentle Yoga practice. We will explore meditation; we’ll try it out, discuss it (if required) and try it again. Experience Mindfulness-based meditations: 5 silent silent seated, guided (nidra) and walking. Learn how to get comfortable, what tools can be helpful, and how to set up a home practice.
All levels welcome.
MEDITATION with YOGA
Have you attended "Intro to Meditation (with Yoga)" with Sheron? Or do you have some silent sitting meditation experience? If yes, here is your chance to grow your practice with the support of a group. We'll begin with a check-in followed by a Gentle Yoga practice and then sit for 15-25 minutes.
Some meditation experience beneficial.
YOGA FOR JOINT HEALTH (the Joint Release Series)
The 'joint releasing series' can be used alone as a gentle practice or as a warm-up for for the joints before a Hatha Yoga practice or other activities. It includes mostly moving poses (seated & standing) that are linked with the breath. (includes a hand-out)
