REGISTRATION: Space is limited, please pre-register for each class you plan on attending. Please do not send payment until you have received confirmation that you are in the class(es). $15-$25 per class - tuition is being offered through Sliding Scale pricing - those who value the teachings and cannot access them without burden will not need to absent themselves, while still offering a living wage to the instructor. Pay what you can - scrape up a bit if you're broke and dig deep if you aren't! If $15 is still too much, talk to me, let’s find another solution. Class Descriptions:ALL CLASSES have a meditation & breath-work component. We begin with a body scan/check-in and a few minutes of breathing to settle in & we end with a guided relaxation (10-15 minutes) to let everything sink in. Options & variations are offered so you can explore poses within your current range of motion and level of energy. GENTLE YOGA A mix of gentle Hatha, Yin, Restorative Yogas & the Joint Freeing Series. Mostly low to the ground poses. A calming practice with stretching & easy strengthening poses. Suitable for those that are slow in getting up & down from the floor, have limited mobility or are looking for a mellow practice. All levels welcome. INTRO TO MEDITATION (with Yoga) What to expect: We’ll begin each class with a discussion on that day’s meditation practice. We will warm up our body and shift away some of the busyness of the mind with a short Gentle Yoga practice. We will explore meditation; we’ll try it out, discuss it (if required) and try it again. Experience Mindfulness-based meditations: 5 silent silent seated, guided (nidra) and walking. Learn how to get comfortable, what tools can be helpful, and how to set up a home practice. All levels welcome. MEDITATION with YOGA Have you attended "Intro to Meditation (with Yoga)" with Sheron? Or do you have some silent sitting meditation experience? If yes, here is your chance to grow your practice with the support of a group. We'll begin with a check-in followed by a Gentle Yoga practice and then sit for 15-25 minutes. Some meditation experience beneficial. YOGA - Joint Series The 'joint freeing series' can be used alone as a gentle practice or as a warm-up for for the joints before a Hatha Yoga practice or other activities. It includes mostly moving poses (seated & standing) that are linked with the breath. (includes a hand-out) All levels welcome. YOGAAAHHH A blend of restorative & yin. We’ll find delightful ways of opening the body by melting into the floor and draping ourselves over bolsters. Deeply nourishing and calming. Includes floor poses (seated, belly, back). Options will be given for all poses so you can decide if you want a deeper yin-like focus to your practice or if you want to just relax to the max via restorative. We will end practice with a slightly longer than usual, luscious guided relaxation/meditation to help you float on a sea of bliss. Some restorative &/or yin experience beneficial. HATHA FUSION A gentle Hatha-based practice with other yoga and holistic body practices blended in. A mixture of floor and standing work. Options for increasing challenge and deepening awareness. A mixed level class with a thorough warm-up and poses to improve flexibility, balance, strength, and posture. Previous Hatha yoga (or similar) experience required. 55+ YOGA - Light A gentle Hatha-based practice with other yoga and holistic body practices blended in. A mixture of floor and standing work. Options for all bodies. A thorough warm-up and poses to improve flexibility, balance, strength, and posture. Suitable for those new to yoga or those looking for an end of week wind-down. 55+ YOGA - Ongoing A gentle Hatha-based practice with other yoga and holistic body practices blended in. A mixture of floor and standing work. Options for increasing challenge and deepening awareness. A mixed level class with a thorough warm-up and poses to improve flexibility, balance, strength, and posture. Previous Hatha yoga (or similar) experience required. |
